About Bridge the Gap:
Bridge the Gap is a nonprofit organization that aims to connect the older and younger generation by fostering meaningful conversations through student-led activities and events. As an organization founded by high school students, we know how meaningful and long-lasting these conversations truly are, and aim to make this opportunity available for those in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and homebound citizens.
Our Services:
At Bridge the Gap, we aim to cater to the needs of every nursing home, assisted living residences, and senior recreational center by providing meaningful activities that are specific to each and every facility. Below are a list of student-led activities and events that we offer.
Bible Study
As a Christian based organization, we believe that the ultimate way to make a connection is through faith. Our student-led Bible study provides the opportunity for seniors and students to make meaningful connections through Christ.
Board Games
Arts and Crafts
One of our favorite things to do at Bridge the Gap is let our creativity shine. We provide several arts and crafts projects designed to fit the needs of the facility. These projects are student led and give the opportunity for purposeful conversation and communication.
Tech Apps Classes
Who doesn’t love a board game? By bringing together the older and younger generations, we create opportunities for learning, laughter, and mutual support through playing all different kinds of games such as bingo, dominoes, scrabble, and more!
Our tech apps classes are informative classes that aim to assist seniors in using their technology. We offer classes helping with smartphones and computers. These classes are taught by the people who use them the most: teenagers!
Bridge the Gap offers fun and engaging movie nights by creating a space where generations can connect, share stories, and enjoy timeless films. We have a wide variety of films that can be chosen from, however we also take individual requests.
